Stereotypes about Russians are often portrayed in the media. It seems like everyone is scared of them or fearful of trusting them, thinking they are all scammers.
Here is the latest perpetuation of these stereotypes, a cybercrime commercial for Norton Anti-Virus:

Marriages Around the World on Oprah Show
Yesterday, Oprah talked with women from around the world about love, life, divorce, etc.
First, she talked with women from Egypt about dating and marriage. Many are very religious and conventional. Women are strongly forbidden to live with their boyfriends. Only after marriage are they permitted to cohabitate and even then there are strict expectations of a wife's role in the home.
She also discussed mail order marriages with a real mail order Ukrainian bride and her husband, Lera and Steve Loeb. They have been discussed on countless blogs since their story appeared in Glamour Magazine last summer. Lera gave some insight into the Russian bride industry, saying over 100,000 Russian and Ukrainian women are married this way each year!
Oprah also spoke with women from India about arranged marriages. One woman told her story about being married for 35yrs to her husband that she first met on their wedding day. She said looks are not important to them; they just want a man who is educated and can provide for them.
This was a very interesting look into how women all over the world experience love and marriage! Some say it's controversial, bizarre, taboo; but who cares how you find your soul mate, as long as you're happy :)

Travel to Ukraine for Good Times!
Men are always wondering about Ukraine. Sure, they are plenty of hot Russian and Ukrainian women there, but is it safe? Is it fun? Is it scary?
Just what is Ukraine like for tourists?
There are a couple of blogs and articles I found where men who have been there and done that share their tales.
Here's a Wordpress blog about one man's insight regarding the women of Russia and Ukraine and his personal experiences traveling there.
Another good one is Rob's story on a Russian bride blog about his recent trip to Ukraine. Very detailed and informative.
Read their advice and then pack your bags for Ukraine! You'll be glad you did.
